Electrical Systems for Transportation Infrastructure
About Truland Transportation
Truland Transportation is owned by the Truland Group, Inc., which is the 10th largest electrical contractor in the United States. Our company was formed through the acquisition of Walker Seal Electric, a long time joint venture partner of Truland with a 60 year history of providing electrical services for the aviation and surface transportation markets. The resulting entity is the nation's largest electrical contractor dedicated to the public transportation industry.
Truland Transportation has a resume that extends back nearly 100 years and includes the Port of Baltimore and the U.S. Shipping Board; commuter rail stations for the Western Maryland Railroad; Thurgood Marshall BWI and Washington Dulles International airports, the Chesapeake Bay and Mackinac Island bridges, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Metro system.
As a result of performing these and numerous other projects, we have amassed comprehensive experience with the electrical systems, codes and standards, and approaches to project management specific to mass transit and aviation construction. These include series circuit lighting systems, multi-user flight information display systems, train control systems, traction and catenary power, stinger systems, and audio and visual paging systems. In addition to experience installing, expanding, and replacing these systems.

Truland Transportation is managed by technical professionals with decades of experience in the delivery of electrical systems design, construction, and maintenance services for surface and air transportation.
We manage and staff each project with personnel who have dedicated their entire careers to mass transit and aviation construction. These individuals are not only experienced in working in these unique construction environments, but they hold the specialty certifications and credentials that allow us to self-perform work that other electrical contractors subcontract to specialty firms.
Highlights of our staff qualifications include:
- 250+ years of combined personnel experience
- 20 year average experience level among our project managers
- Professional Engineer licenses in multiple states
- BICSI RCDD certification for low voltage systems
- Master Electrician licenses in multiple states
